I Love My Neighborhood, And My Neighborhood Coffee
Coffee is a bit of an obsession for me. I chase after the perfect cup.
And wow how lucky I am. I live in Edgewater, Chicago, home to Metropolis Coffee.
Not everyone who visits Metropolis knows that this small coffee roaster is consistently ranked and awarded among the best coffee roasters in the country. It's not a long list and Metropolis is on it.
Sure, I do have a single cup coffee maker at home for the in between fill ups.
I tend to purchase cupped coffee from Congo and Tanzania.
The whole beans, however, I carefully select single source roasts from specific mountains that I know and love, like the Carta Farms in Hawaiian Kona Mountains or the Jamaican import I found to ship in Blue Mountain beans.
Even more: Besides having a world famous coffee roaster in walking distance, I have some of the most amazing coffee shops in walking distance, too!
One is Black Owned, One is Venezuelan Owned, One is Under New Ownership, and two have unlimited coffee options.
That is luck.
And that is why I am the right candidate to elect to the Chicago Elected School Board.
I know my neighborhood and I love it.
That is how I feel about all of Chicago.
Let's keep this going.
Looking forward,
Daniel
