367 Days to Election
Wow. What an adventure! I announced my candidacy for Chicago's Elected Board of Education almost 7 months ago, and ever since, the enthusiasm has been amazing. I can not thank my supporters enough. I have to tell you...
I have been hard at work ever since. I have been texting voters. Thousands of them. I have been posting on Facebook. Hundreds of times. I have been meeting with block club leaders and education advocates. Dozens of coffee shop sit downs.
And it is building to this.
There are now 367 days to Election Day.
Between now and then, there is a lot to do.
I have to raise more money.
I am so thrilled by the support my donor base has shown. They are amazing and loved.
But my opponents will be backed by giant special interest groups, like those that close schools to open charter schools.
I need to be able to keep up.
Fortunately, I have a secret weapon.
You.
It continues to be my held belief that the only thing capable of beating organized money is organized people.
